Fred Frenzel memoir, undated.

The collection includes Fred Frenzel's memoir entitled, "The Trials and Tribulations of Modern Warfare Compiled So Beautifully by Fred Frenzel who Experienced the Horrors of War." The memoir consists of one cover letter (copy, circa 2006-2007); a twenty-six page memoir (copy, post-World War I); and one reproduced photograph.

Fred Frenzel enlisted in the 2nd Connecticut Infantry on 12 September 1914. On 1 June 1916, he was sent with his unit to the Mexican border at Nogales, Arizona. He then enlisted in the 3rd United States Cavalry. He went to France with his unit and on 8 January 1918, he was promoted to corporal. He went into the trenches on the same day.
